A BOOK PRESENTATION ON THE LITERARY CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE PERSIAN, TAJIK, AND KAZAKH PEOPLE WAS HELD AT THE FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES

On October 7, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a presentation of the book "Literary Crossroads and Contacts Common to the Persian, Tajik, and Kazakh People" by renowned orientalist and director of the Institute of Islamic Studies at the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, PhD Kydyr Torali Edilbayuly. The event was organized as part of the celebration of the State Language Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The presentation was attended by distinguished guests, including the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty, Mr. Abdukodir Rahimjoni, and the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ms. Sona Ahmadi, as well as faculty and students of the Department of Middle East and South Asia. The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, M.Sh. Egamberdiev, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the spiritual and cultural ties between the peoples of Tajikistan, Iran, and Kazakhstan, which have been united for centuries through a shared literary heritage. This was followed by congratulatory speeches from diplomatic representatives of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Director of the Center for Arabic Studies, Associate Professor Jubatova Bayan Nursultanovna, PhD Batyrkhan Bolatbek Shadenuly, and the book's author, Kydyr Torali Edilbayuly, presented the key ideas of his work. The ceremony continued with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the opening of a new chapter in the development of Oriental studies, and a photo session.
Kydyr Torali Edilbayuly's work is an important contribution to the development of comparative Eastern literature and confirms the high scholarly potential of the Oriental studies. The book represents not only a study but also a bridge of cultural understanding between Kazakhstan, Iran, and Tajikistan.
