“HAFEZ DAY” WAS CELEBRATED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
On October 13, the Department of Middle East and South Asia at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, together with the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty, held a cultural and literary event, "Hafez Day." The festive event was attended by faculty leadership, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty, Sona Ahmadi, the Acting Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdukodir Rahimjoni, as well as faculty staff and students.
According to the program, the first to deliver a congratulatory speech was N. Kairanbayev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, followed by the Consuls General of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Tajikistan. The guests particularly noted Hafez's important place in Persian-Tajik literature, the originality of his work, and his broad outlook.
During the festive event, students recited Hafez's poems, performed the traditional Kazakh terme, and played the accordion. Later, guests were introduced to one of the Iranian rituals, "Fortune-telling by Hafez." At the end of the evening, students and faculty staff who participated in the event were presented with gifts and a festive table was set.
