"The House That Remembers"

An incredibly atmospheric and warm literary evening was held at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology.

It was a meeting about how words become a bridge between the past and the future, and how poetry connects India and Kazakhstan.

We immersed ourselves in the work of the Indian poet Sonnet Mondal, whose poems were recited in English and in Russian translations. We thank our honored guests: the poet himself, as well as the translators Yuri Serebryansky and Anton Platonov.

The event was organized by the Head of the Department, PhD, Associate Professor Alena Demchenko.

The evening's program included poetry readings, listening to students' touching memories in the "Voices of Homes" segment, and enjoying the enchanting music of the flute and guitar.

The main idea that united us all was: "A home is not walls. It is the memory that makes us human."
