A roundtable discussion "Quality Education”
On October 24, 2025, the Foreign Languages Department faculty members A.A. Dzhanuzakova and A.K. Shayahmet held a roundtable discussion "Quality Education” as a part of the university project to collaborate with and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in honor to the Republic Day of Kazakhstan. Mr. Michael Klett, a renowned American volunteer and CEO of the San Francisco Bike Hut, was invited as a main speaker for the English-speaking event. Mr. Michael Klett shared his vision on quality education and delivered a speech expressing his opinion about the matter of the topic.

The active roundtable participants, i.e. first-year undergraduate students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, also interacted with their international colleagues. Arina Zinurova, for example, conducted an interview with a teacher of Chinese language Liu Xiyao, who is currently pursuing a doctorate at our university. Adilet Nakypbek, for example, interviewed the undergraduate students Shunzhi Takano and Yuuei Murata from Japan. They compared the education systems of Kazakhstan, China, and Japan and presented the results of their short study in their videos. Conference participants Erkezhan Yerbolat and Zhalgas Kadyrbay presented a report on the impact of the UN goal on quality education on Kazakhstan. Evelina Nastyukova, Victoria Fedorova, and Anastasia Shcherbashina described measures related to achieving this goal, and Altynai Imanova and Yersultan Rustemov demonstrated the features of inclusive education. Madina Asiltai played the dombera, Askhat Kasymzhanov sang, Alina Almukhambetova played the guitar and sang with Adelina Ziyash. Asel Adelerkyzy, Sakdiana Kumarova, and Alina Rakhmet performed a beautiful Kazakh dance. Samira Aliaskarova spoke fluent English at the event and introduced herself as an excellent presenter.

Each student prepared and brought a poster on the topic, expressing their support. The first-year students demonstrated themselves to be highly organized, educated, and artistic individuals. The roundtable participants concluded that the importance of a quality education cannot be overestimated.
