The possibilities of AI in the summer school were discussed
The summer school was attended by students from a number of universities in Turkiye (Gaziantep Islam Bilim Ve Teknoloji University, Islami Ilimler faculty, ez-Zehraa University, Arab Dili faculty, Gaziantep), Italy (L'orentale University, Naples), the Arab Republic of Egypt (Al-Azhar University, Cairo), Bangladesh (Dhaka University, Dhaka).
The purpose of the summer school is to improve students ' skills in learning a foreign language, to gain a deep understanding of the Arabic language, literature, history and culture through the use of modern technologies, and to open up opportunities for communication in this language. The use of artificial intelligence technologies in the study of the Arabic language is like a golden bridge connecting a thousand – year-old linguistic heritage with the capabilities of modern technology.
Speakers of the international summer school, consisting of the teaching staff of the Arabic department and invited foreign professors of the department, note that AI provides Arabic language learners with an optimal and interactive learning experience, through which they can develop games and interactive applications that help students learn Arabic easily and interestingly, programs and e-books, audio recordings, video lessons, tests that determine the individual needs of each student and provide an educational experience that meets their abilities and level of knowledge, in theory and practice, he explained that there are opportunities to create various educational resources, including programs for online Arabic courses, mobile applications for teaching Arabic, and video games for the Arabic language, which contribute to the development of reading, writing and speaking skills.
The speakers of the summer school specifically focused on the advantages and difficulties of using artificial intelligence in teaching Arabic: individual learning of Arabic through AI provides a learning experience adapted to the needs of each student, interactive games and applications make the learning process more interesting and active, 24-hour access to knowledge, the opportunity to get regular knowledge, such as studying anywhere – he noted that the advantages of using AI in learning a foreign language are the lack of a scientific or cognitive basis for some data provided by AI, the presence of information that allows errors – the disadvantages of using AI.
The participants of the summer school were able to get a lot of information about the optimal methods and methods of developing communication skills in Arabic, explaining phonetic features of the Arabic language, sound images of vowels and consonants, articulation features, teaching the use of modern educational technologies (online exercises on Arabic grammar, online dictionaries) for cognitive purposes.
Participants of the International Summer School were awarded special certificates.
