“Kazakhstan – A Region of Academic Education”: President Tokayev’s Strategic Vision
In October 2025, during the Forum of Strategic Partners, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined a new national strategy aimed at transforming Kazakhstan into a region of academic education and strengthening its global position in science and higher education.
The President emphasized the importance of enhancing university competitiveness, supporting young scientists, and integrating artificial intelligence and digital technologies into the learning process.
By 2029, Kazakhstan aims to host over 100,000 international students and to establish branches of leading foreign universities — turning the country into a regional hub for educational excellence and innovation.
President Tokayev also highlighted the need to link education with labor market demands and to develop universities as innovation and research centers generating scientific and technological progress.
