From Student to Specialist – A New Stage of Career Guidance
On November 3, 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an offline training seminar titled “AI-Guided Career: From Student to Specialist” for career guidance specialists from Almaty schools. The event was organized jointly by Al-Farabi KazNU and the Almaty City Department of Education.
The seminar began with a faculty exhibition and participant registration. The opening speech was delivered by Alina Galeeva, Member of the University Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. Then, Ruslan Emelbayev, Adviser to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke about the state’s role in supporting youth career choices. Aidar Zhumalipov, Head of the KazNU Admissions Office, emphasized the importance of the admissions process, while Omarbek Koshkimbayuly, PhD student at SDU, explained how to choose a profession and win grants with practical examples. Aidos Zhumanazar, founder of Eduser and Ustaz Media, discussed career guidance in the age of artificial intelligence.
Students from Secondary School No.15 named after Al-Farabi also took an active part, exploring various academic programs at the faculty exhibition. The presentation was led by PhD, Associate Professor Aizhan Kuikabayeva, who provided detailed information about educational programs in thermal power engineering and technical physics, as well as current labor market trends.
The seminar demonstrated a new stage of career guidance development, highlighting the role of artificial intelligence and innovative approaches in shaping the future of young people.
