Open Class in the Specialty “Information Security Systems”: Features of Computer Memory and Device Management
Storage Management and Device Manager in Windows 11 and Linux Operating Systems
An open lesson was held for the IS 24-04 group of students majoring in “Information Security Systems.”
The students of the SIS 24-04 group participated in a seminar on the topic: “Understanding methods of managing computer memory (storage) and connected devices, as well as the differences between Windows and Linux systems.”
The purpose and significance of the open class were to demonstrate that for a computer to function properly, it is necessary to monitor and manage its memory and connected devices.
Storage management involves organizing and configuring files and disks,
while the device manager is a tool for monitoring device performance and installing drivers.
Although these functions appear differently in Windows and Linux, their main goal is the same — proper management of devices and storage.
The lesson was organized using a presentation. It included the course syllabus, seminar notes, test tasks, handout materials, models, mockups, visual aids, and methodological guidelines for using technical teaching tools.
During the seminar, a laboratory exercise related to the topic was also discussed.
After the seminar, during the discussion session, the students showed their talent, diligence, and interest in the subject. They actively participated and competed by answering test questions.
This experience became valuable for them and will serve as a solid foundation for their future studies in higher-level courses and for mastering their professional skills.
