Literary Relations between KazNU and Istanbul University

From October 25 to 31, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. O. Zholdasbekova, and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Zh. A. Bayanbayeva made a business  trip to Istanbul University (Turkey) within the framework of  “Russian Literature of Contemporary Kazakhstan: Key Trends, Genre Studies, Plot Systems, and Characters” project.

During the trip, scientific contacts were established with  the researchers of Russian and Turkic literature in Turkey, and the research results obtained within the  “Russian Literature of Contemporary Kazakhstan: Key Trends, Genre Studies, Plot Systems, and Characters” project  were presented. To develop international academic cooperation between the two universities, a round table discussion on the topic:  “Literary Relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey: Pathways of Interaction and Prospects” was held. Academician B. O. Zholdasbekova delivered a leadership lecture on the topic “Contemporary Russian Literature of Kazakhstan: Trends, Characters, and Poetics of the Text” for the faculty members and the  students of Istanbul University.

The  agreement with Istanbul University to publish a joint article in a journal indexed in the Scopus database was signed. The prospects for expanding academic mobility of the  faculty lecturers  and students were also discussed.

Such scientific initiatives contribute to strengthening the international status of Al-Farabi KazNU as a leading research center in the study of contemporary literature of Kazakhstan.
