"Technology and Ethics: Moral Responsibility and Challenges in Modern Society"
Within the framework of the United Nations' "Sustainable Development Goals", concerning the issue of "Educating a conscious generation through ensuring quality education", on November 8, 2025, the Department of International Relations, under the guidance of Acting Professor A.R. Alipbayev, organized a round table discussion with first-year students of the "International Relations" specialty in the "G.Sh. Zhambaturova Hall", named after the first dean of the faculty. The purpose was to exchange views on the topic "Technology and Ethics: Moral Responsibility and Challenges in Modern Society."

As speakers on the issue submitted for discussion, first-year students Kenges Aisulu in her presentation in Kazakh, Kazbekuly Aibol - in English, Tileukul Kausar - in Russian, and Zhetis Magzhan in a presentation in Chinese, discussed the impact of modern technologies on society and their ethical aspects. It was noted that technology not only simplifies human life but also creates new challenges and moral dilemmas.

The main goal of the exchange of views among students on such pressing issues of our time is to reveal the positive and negative aspects of the influence of technologies on attention, memory, addiction, decision-making, and critical thinking, as well as on the ability to learn. During the discussion, moral issues related to the development of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the protection of personal data, as well as the concepts of digital ethics, were widely considered.

Participants emphasized that adherence to moral values and ethical constraints in the development of technology is the key to the sustainable and safe development of society. At the end of the meeting, students came to the common conclusion that technological achievements should be aimed at the benefit of humans, and adherence to ethical norms is an important component of any innovation.
First-year students of the "International Relations" specialty (group IR-52K) actively participated in the organization of the round table.
