Senior Lecturer G.Zh. Akhmed of the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology held an open class together with group ISS-2201!
🧩 Course: Legal and Regulatory Support of Information Security
📋 Topic: “Information Security Practices in Government and Non-Government Organizations. ‘Electronic Government’ Model”
🎯 Objective: To explain how information security is organized in public and private sectors and to analyze security mechanisms within the Electronic Government (eGov) infrastructure.
👩🏻🏫 In accordance with the syllabus, the instructor explained how information security is structured in government vs. non-government organizations, highlighting the differences through comparative analysis. The principles and architecture of the Electronic Government system were examined, and relevant regulatory documents governing the attestation of information systems were analyzed. The attestation stages were demonstrated (system structure analysis, technical documentation review, vulnerability scanning), along with key terms such as information asset, authentication, security policy, cryptographic protection. In the practical section, students applied the eGov security model to a real case and identified potential risks.
📌 The session included a review of the attestation methodology for compliance with information security requirements (Order No. 51/NҚ), which regulates the attestation process of state information systems, including the eGov platform and web resources. Students learned how compliance with security standards is ensured in practice.
💻 Practical relevance: Students gained hands-on understanding of how information protection requirements are applied in real organizations and why attestation and regulatory compliance are essential for secure operation of electronic information systems.
