On November 14, 2025, Kaiyrbek M.N., the teacher from the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, and the first-year students majoring in Cadastre, held a roundtable discussion onthe topic: "Students' Environmental Awareness as a Factor in Sustainable Development.
The event was aimed at fostering environmental awareness and raising each student's awareness of their personal responsibility for preserving the natural balance. The roundtable moderator, Kaiyrbek M.N., emphasized that sustainable development is impossible without environmental thinking and active citizenship among young people.
During the meeting, students presented their research papers and multimedia presentations on current environmental issues and climate change. Their presentations covered topics such as:
• the impact of climate change on Kazakhstan's biodiversity;
• the role of renewable energy sources in reducing carbon emissions;
• urban adaptation to climate change;
• the importance of environmental education in shaping a sustainable future.
Each presentation generated lively interest and discussion. Students shared their opinions, proposed their own ideas, and suggested ways to raise environmental awareness among the population. Participants emphasized that the foundation of sustainable development lies in the personal responsibility of each individual, environmental awareness, and careful stewardship of natural resources.
Such events play an important role in instilling in students a sense of responsibility for the future of the planet and contribute to strengthening the sustainable development values embedded in the strategy of Al-Farabi KazNU.
