ON 1. Analyze modern scientific knowledge in the field of fundamental philological sciences and foreign philology, taking into account the latest achievements and technologies in linguistic and literary studies.
ON 2. Organize scientific research, applying methodological principles and techniques of foreign philological teachings in such areas as contrastive linguistics, literary criticism, foreign language acquisition, intercultural communication, cognitive and gender linguistics and others.
ON 3. Use the acquired knowledge in such areas as the theory of text and discourse, language variability, speechwriting, copywriting and media linguistics, to prepare speech works in a foreign and native language, both in oral and written forms, taking into account the specifics of professional, scientific and business communication
ON 4. Develop advanced skills and abilities of foreign language communication in all types of speech activity and styles, including the interpretation of literary and media texts, using discursive methods to solve practical communication problems.
ON 5. apply knowledge of various types and forms of academic communication, features of a foreign language scientific style and stylistic differentiation of texts, organizational structure and content of an authentic scientific text, reflecting the linguistic variability of the English language, semantics and pragmatics of the language, gender aspects of language, strategies of communicative behavior
ON 6. Summarize the knowledge gained in information-analytical and information-bibliographic work with the use of modern information technologies, text corpora of native and foreign languages in order to determine ways to creatively solve philological and pragmatic-professional problems
ON 7. Explain current issues and aspects of scientific research in the field of contrastive description of languages and integrate knowledge about the social aspects of the functioning of linguistic units, interpreting the text as a complex phenomenon of linguistic and literary analysis
ON 8. Develop and defend original projects analyzing language as a functional system, taking into account its social stratification, communicative and cognitive functions, as well as the pragmatics of linguistic influence, intercultural discourse and speech tactics
ON 9. Integrate knowledge to solve theoretical and applied problems in the scientific, academic and professional fields using modern computer technologies, language data processing programs, etc. and, accordingly, perform computer abstracting and annotation of scientific and technical documentation by correctly interpreting the stylistic characteristics of texts of different types
ON 10. Apply strategies for mastering and using language in an interdisciplinary context and in a multicultural team, affecting the processes of social, gender, cultural, scientific, professional and interpersonal communication, taking into account the specifics of intercultural communication and the functioning of language in the media, scientific, professional and educational areas.
