Forms of activity of the Institute:
- Study of trends in the development of world politics, analysis of their impact on the development of Kazakhstan and its role in the international community;
- Conducting analytical and expert work to ensure the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on topical issues of regional and international security;
- Participation in competitions and grant programs on security issues, regional integration and international cooperation and the implementation of international projects on the topics of the Institute;
- Organization and holding of international conferences, lectures, round tables and scientific seminars on the topics of the Institute, interactive business games for students from Kazakhstan and CA countries;
- Preparation of scientific articles, analytical materials, monographs, joint research with foreign scientists;
- Development of proposals and scientifically based recommendations for state structures of the Republic of Kazakhstan on foreign policy initiatives, security problems and international cooperation.
The purpose of the institute is to organize and conduct research and information work on a systematic and comprehensive study of both regional and global problems of our time

Baizakova Kuralai
Director of the Institute of Security and Cooperation Problems .He is one of the leading experts in the field of international relations and foreign policy of Kazakhstan. Her research interests include issues of French foreign policy in the context of European integration, problems of regional integration and regional security in the context of studying experience for Central Asian countries.Baizakova K.I. participated in more than 200 international and regional conferences held in foreign countries on regional and international security issues and other topical issues of modern international relations.
As a well-known specialist in the field of international relations, K.I. Baizakova was invited to lecture at French universities - the R. Schumann University of Strasbourg, the University of Le Havre. On her initiative, the faculty develops international cooperation with foreign universities in France, Germany, Russia, India, etc.
Since 2002, Baizakova has been the Director of the European Information Center at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2006, on the initiative of K.I. Baizakova, the first Resource and Information Center on NATO in Central Asia was opened at the Faculty of International Relations
In 2006 and 2011, she won the grant of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "The Best teacher of the Year".
