On 18 November 2025, academic staff and researchers of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the webinar “Dissertations on the Web of Science Platform”, delivered by Clarivate expert Irina Tikhonkova. The event provided an in-depth overview of the opportunities for integrating dissertations into the international databases ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Citation Index available through the Web of Science platform.

Key topics covered during the webinar:
• principles of indexing dissertations and theses in PQDT Global;
• benefits of placing dissertations in global repositories: increased visibility, citation potential, and accessibility of research;
• structure, requirements, and formatting standards for dissertations intended for international databases;
• searching dissertations, accessing full texts, and using AI-based tools and analytical features in Web of Science;
• opportunities for integrating dissertations from Kazakhstani universities into global data ecosystems;
• mechanisms for linking dissertations with scientific publications, datasets, and patents.
