A master class on science journalism was held
SDG-4The development of science serves as a fundamental measure of human civilization — an axiom that requires no further justification. The present era is one that demands new perspectives and innovation. The fields of science and education continue to advance year by year, producing new outcomes and establishing ever more advanced models.
In the process of implementing measures to improve the quality of scientific research, the increased proportion of research funding should be recognized as a significant support from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Each year, to support the work of researchers and attract young scholars to the scientific field, the country allocates funds to programs designed to foster the initiatives of talented youth, while also organizing various competitions and forums.
Al-Farabi once said, “A nation without science has no future.” In an interview with the newspaper Ana Tili (“Mother Tongue”), the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, also stated: “This era is the era of reason, science, knowledge, and labor!” In other words, our present age is one in which the active advancement of science and education is imperative. In this context, a master class on the role of journalism in the advancement of science was held at the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized by Associate Professor Klara Kabylgazina. The lecture aimed to provide students with a systematic understanding of how to enhance the professionalism of Kazakh scientific media, the importance of media collaboration, and the methods for developing the profession of science reporting. The lecture invited Dina Imambay, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the socio-political magazine Aqikat (“Truth”), as the main speaker. As a widely recognized science communicator in Kazakhstan, she shared her professional experience during the session.
