Practical Field Training at the Canine Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the Framework of the UN SDG 4 “Quality Education”

In accordance with the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 “Quality Education,” students of the educational programs 6B04205 – Jurisprudence and 6B12301 – Law Enforcement Activity of the Faculty of Law at аl-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in practical field training at the Canine Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized with the participation of PhD, Associate Professor (Acting) K. Aratuly.

The activity aimed at enhancing students’ professional training, strengthening practice-oriented learning, and developing competencies required for future lawyers and law enforcement specialists.

During the field practice, students became acquainted with the activities of canine units of the internal affairs bodies. Specialists of the center demonstrated the work of service dogs, explained methods of their training, the process of evidence search, and the use of canine skills in solving crimes and ensuring public safety.

The practical session allowed students to observe real mechanisms of law enforcement operations, ask experts questions, and expand their understanding of modern approaches to maintaining public order.

Students of the Jurisprudence and Law Enforcement Activity programs, faculty members of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Faculty of Law at аl-Farabi Kazakh National University, as well as specialists of the Canine Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the event.

“Such practical training sessions are an important element of quality education, as they allow students to observe professional activities from within and to understand the significance of the competencies required in the field of law enforcement,” noted PhD K. Aratuly.

The Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics continues its systematic efforts to strengthen the quality of education and develop students’ professional skills. Conducting field-based practical training contributes to preparing highly qualified specialists capable of working effectively in modern conditions and making a meaningful contribution to the security of the state and the well-being of society.
