Today, the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an important meeting with first- and second-year students. The event was held within the framework of the University’s Sustainable Development Programme and aimed to enhance the legal awareness of young people, strengthen social stability, and contribute to comprehensive efforts to prevent extremism.

The meeting featured a guest speaker from the Makan Yesbolatov Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Associate Professor, Candidate of Political Sciences, Police Lieutenant Colonel Aktolkyn Aitkankyzy Amreeva. She delivered an informative lecture titled “Law and Order: Protecting Youth from Radical Ideology.” The speaker provided evidence-based insights into the current priorities of national legal policy, mechanisms of radical ideology dissemination, tools for safeguarding young people from various threats, and the broader importance of legal culture in society.

During the lecture, students received detailed information on current issues in the religious sphere, methods used by destructive movements, types of legal liability, and the consequences of violating legal norms. Participants also received professional and fact-based answers to questions such as: “What warning signs should raise concern?”, “How should one act in case of danger?”, and “How do law enforcement agencies work with young people?”

The event was held in an open-dialogue format, allowing students to actively share their views and discuss the importance of civic responsibility in maintaining social stability and security. The lecture served as an essential educational platform aimed at fostering informed civic engagement, developing legal literacy, and strengthening awareness of information security.

The meeting was organized by the advisors of the A. Baitursynuly Department of Kazakh Linguistics — Nazýken Egizbayeva, Zhanat Sarsenbai, Symbat Igilikova, and Moldir Khamitova. They highlighted the significance of such events in shaping students’ legal culture and emphasized that activities in this direction will continue.

The event reaffirmed the University’s commitment not only to academic education but also to cultivating civic responsibility, legal awareness, and a culture of safety among its students.
