Getting to know the southern capital

As part of the study and promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals, the teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education carry out a lot of educational work with the students of the faculty. This aspect of education corresponds to such a direction of the SDG as "Quality Education". In addition to classroom work, teachers spend a lot of time with their students, since our students come to study in Kazakhstan from all kinds of countries and, of course, do not know anything about the history of the country and its features of development.

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather in the Southern Capital, the advisors took their students on an educational tour of Almaty. On Saturday, after classes, the students walked along the central streets of Almaty and learned more about the city, its history, and its famous architectural landmarks.

The teachers explained to the Chinese students what are the buildings of the Republican State Academic Theatres – the Uyghur and Korean Theatres of Musical Comedy famous for (the Kuddus Kuzhamyarov Uyghur Theatres of Musical Comedy is the only Uyghur theatre in the world), what is the I. Yesenberlin Gymnasium No. 25 famous for (formerly Secondary School No. 25 named after F. Dzerzhinsky) – this school was graduated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K.Tokayev, told about the creation of the Pine Park near this school, about the sculptural monument in the square dedicated to the victims of the Holodomor. The students were very interested, they learned a lot of new and useful things for themselves about the history of the Southern capital – the city of Almaty. And that means – already loved it.
