OUTCOMES OF THE FACULTY OF GEOGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE’S SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL MEETING
On December 5, 2025, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences Scientific Council meeting was held, during which key organizational, academic-methodological, and scientific issues that determine the further development of the faculty in the 2025–2026 academic year were reviewed.
The agenda included the implementation of university-level decisions, preparation for the autumn examination session, updates to doctoral supervision, approval of dissertation topics, congratulating a faculty member on his jubilee, as well as the presentation of a new textbook. The reports and proposed decisions were endorsed by the members of the Council.

Key Decisions and Highlights
— Implementation of university leadership directives. The faculty reported on the progress made in carrying out previously adopted university decisions, including strengthening the digitalization of the educational process, updating regulatory documentation, and organizing reporting procedures.
— Preparation for the examination session. The Vice-Dean presented the plan and measures aimed at ensuring transparency, objectivity, and reliability of examinations. The readiness of classrooms, teaching staff, and examination committees was noted, along with the need to enhance advisory support for students.
— Changes in doctoral supervision. Based on requests from young researchers of the “Geoinformatics” and “Geodesy” educational programs, new scientific supervisors were approved. The decision was adopted unanimously, taking into account the need to improve the quality of academic guidance.
— Approval of dissertation topics for 1st-year doctoral students. The proposed research topics were recognized as relevant and aligned with modern scientific directions, including geography, geoinformatics, land management, and sustainable development.
— Congratulating the jubilarian. The Academic Council congratulated Associate Professor T. R. Ryspekov of the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre on his 70th anniversary, acknowledging his significant contribution to training specialists and to the faculty’s development.

— Presentation of a new textbook. The textbook “Socio-Demographic Challenges of Regional Development in the Republic of Kazakhstan” authored by Professor G. N. Nusupova was presented. Reviewers gave high evaluations, and the textbook was recommended for publication.
