Scientific and Educational Excursion of Master’s Students to the Almaty Museum for the Study of Kazakhstan’s History
On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of their pedagogical practice, first-year master’s students of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science conducted a scientific and educational excursion to the Almaty Museum, founded in 1892. The excursion was organized by Professor N. Zh. Baitenova and doctoral student Zh. A. Baigaraev.
The purpose of the event was to familiarize students with key stages of national history, to foster the development of historical consciousness, and to analyze materials presented in museum exhibits that reflect the process of Kazakhstan’s independence formation.
During the excursion, the master’s students examined materials related to the political, cultural, and ethnographic development of Kazakhstan, reviewed samples of documentary archives, and explored exhibitions illustrating the social transformations of the Independence period. Museum staff provided detailed explanations regarding the scientific significance of the historical artifacts and their role in shaping national identity and the idea of statehood.
This event contributed to strengthening the young researchers’ interest in national history, deepening their understanding of national values in a scientific context, and fostering the formation of a civic and patriotic worldview among the master’s students.
Independence represents a fundamental pillar of the nation’s historical development and statehood. In this regard, educational, cultural, and scholarly activities play an essential role in expanding the academic worldview of the master’s students and enhancing their historical consciousness.
