Theatre as an Informal Platform for Quality Education
On December 19, 2025, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, PhD in Law Nurlayim Kanbatyrovna Mynbatyrova, and members of the "Memleket zhane kuqyq tarikhy" student club organized a trip for students from groups 304 and 305 of the Faculty of Law to the Concordia Student Theater to promote student culture and implement SDG 4 – Quality Education. This event aims to enhance students' spiritual wealth, awaken a love of art, and develop their creative potential.
Theater attendance for students is more than just a cultural pastime; it's an important step toward shaping a conscious, thoughtful, and socially responsible generation. Theater art raises questions of morality, justice, human values, and social responsibility, which directly aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This event contributes to the achievement of SDG 4 – Quality Education – as theater broadens students' horizons, develops critical thinking, empathy, and the ability to analyze complex life situations.
Theater attendance fosters critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and ethical analysis – qualities essential for the professional development of a lawyer. Theater art serves as a tool for informal education, broadening students' horizons and fostering a deeper understanding of social processes and human psychology.
Students demonstrated great interest in participating in the post-performance discussion. A legal analysis of the characters' motives allowed them to integrate their university-acquired knowledge with their cultural experience. The event confirmed the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in providing quality education and developing a well-rounded individual.
