26 december, 2025

A seminar aimed at promoting scientific careers among female students and young researchers, as well as discussing opportunities for education, professional growth, and support for women, was held at the UNESCO Regional Office.

The event brought together young participants from various universities, research institutes, and specialized organizations. The seminar focused on educational and research opportunities offered by faculties, support programs for women in education, and the development of mentoring initiatives involving academic staff and successful graduates as speakers and mentors. Distinguished women scientists also took part in the seminar, sharing their personal stories of professional development. Their scientific trajectories served as compelling examples of consistency, perseverance, and strong motivation, demonstrating that success in science is built on continuous development, academic culture, and genuine commitment to one’s chosen field.

One of the speakers was Ainur Mussina, Candidate of Geographical Sciences and Associate Researcher at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences. In her presentation, she shared her personal professional journey, experience in building a career in science, balancing research, teaching, and project activities, as well as practical recommendations for young women planning to pursue careers in science and technology. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of determination, systematic education, mentorship, and interdisciplinary approaches in achieving sustainable scientific outcomes.

The seminar became an important platform for dialogue between the university community, research organizations, and young people, and represented a significant step toward fostering a supportive academic environment that contributes to the development of the scientific potential of the next generation of researchers.
