Quality Education Is the Foundation of Sustainable Development
The event was organized within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – “Quality Education.” The career guidance event entitled “Quality Education Is the Foundation of Sustainable Development” was held on December 25, 2025, in an offline format. The partner of the event was Secondary School No. 203 of Almaty city. The main objective of the event was to provide career guidance for school students, helping them make a conscious and informed choice of their future profession.

During the event, within the theme “Choosing a Future Profession Is the Key to a Bright Future,” the educational programs of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were presented. Students were provided with comprehensive information on currently and prospectively in-demand professions, requirements for admission to KazNU under state-funded grants, types of grants, and academic benefits. Information was also shared about the national and international faculty members of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, the significance and opportunities of the educational programs, and the conditions created for students’ research activities. Through photo and video tours, the faculty laboratories, modern equipment, students’ scientific achievements, and opportunities for student self-governance were demonstrated. Within the framework of international cooperation, opportunities for studying abroad through academic mobility programs were introduced, and the future employment prospects and industry connections of graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology were highlighted. Information about the educational programs was also conveyed to students’ parents through school teachers.
The event was attended by 21 eleventh-grade students and teachers of Secondary School No. 203 of Almaty, as well as associate professors of the Department of Analytical, Colloidal Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University — M.Zh. Kerimkulova and A.O. Adilbekova.

The outcomes and effectiveness of the event were demonstrated by its importance as a valuable source of information for students, teachers, and parents in the process of choosing a future profession. Students showed great interest by asking numerous questions about the combinations of profile subjects for the Unified National Testing (UNT), the number and types of educational programs available based on these combinations, the learning process, and future opportunities. When a combination of profile subjects allows students to choose among several professions, the information received enables them to make a well-informed and responsible decision. This, in turn, enhances the effective use of state grants and contributes to the training of qualified specialists for the country’s future. The Sustainable Development Goal aimed at quality education and high-quality professional training strengthens the foundation for transforming today’s conscious choice of a student into tomorrow’s competent specialist serving the future of the nation.
