“Interdisciplinary Support for Families with Children with Special Educational Needs by Leading Universities”
Within the framework of SDG 4 “Quality Education,” a round table was held on the topic “Interdisciplinary Support for Families with Children with Special Educational Needs by Leading Universities.” The event focused on discussing current issues of ensuring equal access to quality education for children requiring individualized educational approaches.
The report was presented by Banu Esimkhanovna Savdenbekova, Head of the Department of Employment and Social Programs of the Akim’s Office of Bostandyk District, who provided statistical data on the number of children with special educational needs and highlighted the main challenges faced by such families. Special attention was given to the fact that a significant portion of these families are low-income, which further complicates children’s access to quality education and specialized support.
During the discussion, opportunities for leading universities to address these challenges were considered, including educational, advisory, and interdisciplinary support, involvement of specialists from various fields, and development of partnerships with government and social structures. The round table contributed to understanding the role of universities in achieving SDG 4 and emphasized the importance of integrating education, science, and social support for sustainable societal development.
