5 november, 2025

As part of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a significant online event. On November 5, 2025, a curatorial hour titled "Law and Order — The Foundation of a Just Society" was held under the leadership of Aru Raikhankyzy Kuljanova. The event aimed to enhance students' legal literacy and foster a sense of civic responsibility, focusing on the crucial role of the rule of law in state development and social stability.

Students examined real-life examples while discussing anti-corruption measures, crime prevention, and public engagement. A highlight of the session, led by Aru Raikhankyzy Kuljanova, was the debate on the topic "Is it permissible to break the law for the sake of justice?", where participants split into two groups to defend their perspectives. One side argued that the law is an absolute necessity for social stability, while the other explored moral dilemmas and exceptional cases involving conscience and ethical justice. This format significantly improved the students' critical thinking and evidence-based argumentation skills.

This initiative contributes directly to the university's international reputation and its standing in the THE Impact Rankings. Training competitive specialists who are committed to building a just society enhances the university's scientific potential and strengthens public trust among parents, employers, and the state. Such events help attract talented students and distinguished professors, providing a foundation for economic stability and expanded partnership opportunities for the university.
