Within the framework of 4-SDG “Quality Education,” first-year Master’s students majoring in Kazakh Philology at the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor S. Kalkabayeva, held a literary-musical and scholarly-poetic evening titled “A Poem with Deep Roots – A Life,” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding poet and author of the lyrics of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhumeken Nazhimedenov.

The literary-musical composition, based on the poet’s works reflecting his boundless love for his native land and people, his lofty civic spirit, and the profound philosophy of the human soul, was expressively presented by the Master’s students divided into groups titled “I Am the Root,” “My Native Soil,” “Brown - Spirit,” and “Dedication.”
The song “My Kazakhstan,” which vividly embodies the national identity and spirit of the Kazakh people, their freedom and lofty aspirations, was approved as the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2006. After the country gained Independence, it acquired a new historical status, and all participants of the evening performed it solemnly.
During the literary-musical and scholarly-poetic event, the spiritual and philosophical depth of the poet’s works was comprehensively examined from an academic perspective, and their cognitive dimensions were analyzed. The event was attended by the Head of the Department, Associate Professor S. Daribay, Professor S. Yerzhanova, Associate Professors S. Kosanov, B. Sarbasov, and N. Matbekov, who emphasized that Zhumeken’s творчество is distinguished by philosophical depth, encourages reflection, and invites readers to engage in an inner dialogue.
Through literary-musical performances, poetic readings, and scholarly reflections, guests and students once again immersed themselves in Zhumeken’s world. The evening became convincing evidence that each of his poems is a legacy inseparably connected with the fate of the people and the history of the country, rooted in the past, resonating with the present, and directed toward the future.
