“The Melodious Sounds of Spring” Acoustic Evening Held at Al-Farabi KazNU

Gratitude Day is an important celebration that strengthens social unity and promotes appreciation and mutual respect.

On March 2, 2026, at the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, first-year doctoral students of the “8D02303 – Linguistics” program organized an acoustic evening titled “The Melodious Sounds of Spring” along with a Baur¬sak Party in celebration of Gratitude Day (March 1). Faculty members, master’s students, and undergraduates actively participated in the event, sharing an atmosphere of creativity and spring inspiration. The program featured a rich and diverse lineup of performances.

Zhumanur Bayan, a graduate of the Pre-University Education Faculty, performed the song “Türli Arman” on the dombra and masterfully played the traditional kui “Köroghly.”

Orazakyn Ansar, a first-year master’s student in Linguistics, performed the song “Otan Ana” accompanied by guitar. Inkhu Kurmanalina, a second-year student majoring in “Two Foreign Languages,” recited the poem “Ghashyqpyn” by Mukagali Makatayev in English and French. Marat Adel, also a second-year student of the same program, presented her original poem titled “Language.”

Doctoral students in Linguistics contributed as well: Beisenkhan Samal recited the poem “Ana” by Tolegen Aibergenov, Shynatai Yelimai performed the song “Men dep oila,” and Karakoz Yersultanova performed the Kazakh folk song “Dedim-ay au.”

The event was held at an international level with the participation of foreign guests. Dauiren Yersultanov, a doctoral student at University of South Florida and a Bolashak scholarship graduate, joined the event online and delivered a congratulatory message. A Gratitude Day video by Snezhana Alzheva, a fourth-year Journalism student at Taraz University named after M.Kh. Dulaty, was also presented.

Throughout the evening, poetry in different languages was recited, heartfelt songs were performed, traditional kui pieces were played on the dombra, and musical numbers were accompanied by guitar. As part of the Baur¬sak Party, a traditional national table was arranged, allowing participants to communicate warmly in an informal setting.

The event was held at a high organizational level and became a meaningful cultural gathering that strengthened cooperation between faculty and students while promoting spiritual and cultural values.
