Research Seminar on Information Technologies Held at the Department of Chinese Studies
On March 12, 2026, Ulzhan Zhubaniyazova, a second-year PhD student at the Department of Chinese Studies, conducted a research seminar titled “Information Technologies and Socio-Domestic Analysis of Public Life: Theory and Methodology.”
The seminar was attended by faculty members of the Department of Chinese Studies — PhD, Acting Associate Professor Daniyar Aripbayevich Madiev, PhD, Acting Associate Professor E.A. Kerimbayev, PhD, Associate Professor D.B. Dauyen, as well as master’s and PhD students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
During the seminar, Ulzhan Zhubaniyazova presented the key findings of her dissertation research using presentation slides on an interactive board and provided a scholarly analysis of the impact of information technologies on social life. She also offered a theoretical review of the relevant academic literature.
The discussion covered the formation of the information society, the impact of digitalization on the social environment, the role of the Internet and digital platforms in everyday life, and modern theoretical and methodological approaches to studying information technologies.
At the end of the seminar, participants shared their comments and asked questions. The seminar, conducted within the framework of Ulzhan Zhubaniyazova’s doctoral research, was highly appreciated, and the seminar report was officially approved.
