The Spirit of Ramadan: Iftar Bringing Students Together
On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Higher School of Economics and Business organized a charitable initiative for students — an iftar at the Nur-Mubarak Mosque. Around 100 students of the faculty took part in this spiritual gathering, coming together at a shared table to break their fast. The event fostered unity and mutual respect among students, creating a warm atmosphere of kindness and care.
Ramadan is a sacred time for Muslims, symbolizing spiritual purification, compassion, patience, and charity. During this month, people strive to perform good deeds, support one another, and demonstrate empathy. Organizing iftar for students during this blessed period has become one of the university’s meaningful traditions. Such events contribute to a deeper understanding of spiritual values and strengthen a culture of mutual respect and solidarity.

These gatherings are especially important for students living away from their families in dormitories. Therefore, the Nur-Mubarak Mosque, located near student residences, was chosen as the venue. Students were able to enjoy a short walk in the fresh evening air and conveniently gather for the iftar.
The event brought together students from various academic programs. International students from Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Türkiye also participated, enriching the event with cultural diversity. The gathering became a vivid example of friendship, intercultural dialogue, and mutual understanding. Such initiatives strengthen the university’s international student community.
During the iftar, students engaged in meaningful conversations in a warm and sincere atmosphere, sharing reflections on spiritual values. The evening left a lasting positive impression on all participants and contributed to strengthening unity within the academic community.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Vice Deans for Academic Affairs, Science and Innovation and International Relations, as well as for Student Affairs and Social Issues, along with Heads of Departments and academic advisors. In his speech, the Dean emphasized the significance of Ramadan and wished students success in their studies, expressing confidence in their future.
Such initiatives enhance a spirit of mutual support and respect within the university community and contribute to the moral development of young people. May the holy month of Ramadan bring prosperity to every home, kindness to hearts, and peace to our country. These spiritual gatherings will continue to be an integral part of university life, strengthening friendship and unity among students and faculty members.
