On March 17, 2026, Manai Gulgina, a first-year PhD student of the “Oriental Studies” program at the Department of Chinese Studies, conducted an open class as part of her teaching practice.
The class was held for first-year master’s students of the “Oriental Studies” program in the course “Narrative Essay in an Eastern Language.” Using a multimedia presentation, the instructor explained Chinese writing skills to the students. During the session, the principles of writing narrative texts in Chinese were discussed in detail. In addition, based on textbook materials, students learned the three key elements of a narrative text.
To apply the acquired knowledge in practice, students were given a short writing task. They discussed their work with each other and exchanged feedback. This approach helps develop writing skills and enhances students’ creative potential.
