OFFICIAL MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF HAMAD BIN KHALIFA UNIVERSITY
The meeting was attended by the president of Hamad Bin Khalifa University Ahmad M. Hasna director of the College of Islamic Studies Emad El-Din Shahin, director of the Research Center for Islamic Economy and Finance Said Nazim, as well as representatives of IFC (International Financial Center "Astana").
Opening the meeting, the rector of KazNU Galym Mutanov stressed the importance of interaction between universities. He spoke about the activities and prospects for the development of the university.
President of Hamad Bin Khalifa university Ahmad M. Hasna, in his turn, noted that it is a great honor for him to visit the Al-Farabi KazNU. Ahmad M. Hasna spoke about the programs of the Master's program, which provide access to the world's knowledge bank, the development of Islamic finance. He also invited undergraduates and doctoral candidates for an internship. President Ahmad M. Hasna stressed that each time the number of students will grow, as this will contribute to the development of international scientific projects, the exchange of experience and integration into the international scientific space.
Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business, Doctor of Economic Sciences, acting professor Sagiyeva Rimma Kalymbekovna and lecturer of the department "Finance" Kuanova Laura Aibolovna also attended the meeting, who made a presentation on the development of Islamic finance in Kazakhstan.
Members of the delegation highly appreciated the achievements and pace of development of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the level of educational and research potential. They also noted that the choice to establish partnership with KazNU was obvious. The university is the leader of the national rating and is among the top 300 best universities in the world, actively working on issues of Islamic finance with the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry HEC (France).
During the visit, the sides noted the productive aspects of mutually beneficial cooperation, discussed prospects for its further improvement in the areas of IT technologies, biomedicine, cybersecurity, cyber physics, renewable energy, new technologies, as well as joint master's program and graduate employment.
