A military delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan paid a visit to the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

On October 8, 2020, a meeting with the military delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held at the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Military Attaché General Brigadier Yasser Nawaz Janjua led the delegation along with Muhammad Asif Akhtar, General Director of the Pakistan Army Heritage Foundation, Dr. Adnan Salim Member of the Pakistan Army Heritage Foundation delegation, Trade and Investment Counsellor of Pakistan, Chairman of National Bank of Pakistan-Almaty, Mr. Muhammad Rafik, Chairman of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Association, Mr. Habib Ur-Rehman, and Mr. Hussein Arif, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Pakistan Bank.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Dean for Scientific, Innovative and International Relations K.T. Gabdullin, head of the department P. Suleimenov, deputy dean Sh. E. Kanafieva, head of the department of indology D.N. Tairova and others. The delegation was greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Mr. Yktiyar Paltore, who introduced them to the activities of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.  The guests visited the faculty, scientific centers, departments, "Museum of the East", "Center named after Mahatma Gandhi" as well as the center named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah. During the meeting, issues of teaching Urdu at the faculty, cooperation in providing all kinds of assistance during the learning process, as well as the prospects for fruitful cooperation were discussed. 

The dean of the faculty, Mr. Yktiyar Paltore, thanked the Brigadier General Yasser Nawuaz Janjua for the visit and for taking an active part in organizing the educational process of the Urdu department, and also expressed strong confidence in the fruitfulness of further cooperation. Brigadier General Yasser Nawaz Janjua also stressed that the warm and hospitable reception was a big surprise for him, the Chairman of the National Bank of Pakistan in Almaty, Mr. Muhammad Rafik, the Chairman of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Association, Mr. Habib Ur-Rehman, also expressed their gratitude.
