SCIENTISTS FROM WAYNE AND CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITIES WILL TEACH IN KAZNU
Professor of Wayne University in the USA, scientist-mathematician Walbai Omirbayev and professor at Cambridge University in Great Britain, neurobiologist Bazbek Davletov will lecture at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
In order to increase international cooperation, academic mobility of teachers and students, strengthen the teaching staff, the leadership of KazNU made a decision on a systematic basis to attract well-known and authoritative foreign scientists to the university.
Walbay Utmakhanbetovich currently lives in Detroit. He is the recipient of the Moore Prize of the highest degree of the American Mathematical Society and the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The world-renowned Kazakhstani scientist solved the problems of the famous Japanese mathematician M. Nagata and the English mathematician P. Cohn, who had been struggling to solve them for 30 years.
He began his career in 1986 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 1993-2007 he worked in higher educational institutions in Spain, Canada, Washington, Michigan, Cleveland, Miami, in the Mathematical Center of Marseille-Luminine in France, at the Max Plancki Institute of Mathematics in Germany. Now U. Umirbaev will teach at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of KazNU.
The only scientist from the CIS countries Bazbek Davletov is a citizen of Kyrgyzstan. For 15 years, he headed the molecular biology laboratory of the famous Cambridge Central Institute, from which 12 Nobel laureates graduated. He is a graduate of Moscow State University, was engaged in scientific work at the Southwestern University of Texas, and defended his doctorate. Today he is a professor at Sheffield University.
In the mid-nineties, he was invited to Imperial College London, where in 1997 he won a competition in which 120 people took part and became the head of the laboratory at Cambridge University. Bazbek Davletov is one of the largest scientists in the field of neurobiology, who discovered DNA, antibodies, proteins.
According to the head of the university Zhanseit Kanseitovich Tuimebayev, other well-known foreign and Kazakh scientists will be invited to the university in the near future.
