INFORMATION LETTER
DEAR COLLEAGUES!
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan and Ataturk Institute at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey on April 16, 2021 will hold an International scientific-theoretical conference in the online format on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic entitled "The history of the struggle of the Turkic peoples for the formation of statehood in the late 19th - early 20th centuries".
The purpose of the conference is to consider the struggle of the Kazakh and other Turkic peoples to restore their statehood in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and is to conduct joint research at the international level in the context of the 100th anniversary of the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
During the conference, will be discussed in terms of the issues of the history of statehood of the Kazakh and Turkic peoples, the Alash movement and the autonomy of "Alash", the formation and functioning of the Kazak ASSR, as well as the struggle of the Turkic peoples for independence in the late XIX and early XX centuries, the role of prominent historical figures will be discussed in terms of new perspectives. The conference will also analyze the results and conclusions of scientific research on the history of the liberation struggle of the Turkish people.
The work of the Conference is planned in the following directions:
- Issues of the history of statehood of the Kazakh and Turkic peoples;
- The struggle for the statehood of the Kazakh and Turkic peoples under Russian rule in the late 19th - early 20th centuries;
- Alash movement and "Alash" autonomy;
- Establishment and activity of the Kazak ASSR;
- The role of historical figures of the Kazakh and Turkic peoples in the liberation struggle of the late 19th - early 20th centuries;
- Issues of the liberation struggle of the Kazakh and Turkic peoples in the contemporary research.
The languages of the conference are Kazakh, Russian, Turkish and English.
The conference will be attended by leading domestic and foreign historians, philologists, sociologists and the media.

Appendix 1
Requirements of formatting and volume of the articles:
To be included in the conference program, completed application form and at least 200-250 words abstract of the article should sent in English and Turkish to the Organizing Committee by March 10, 2021 in a file typed in Microsoft Office Word (2003, 2007). The author's name must be written in the file name (Example: Sadykova Ainur_abstract).
The report should made in one of the languages of the conference, and the text of the report is accepted in English or Turkish.
To prepare the conference proceedings, it`s necessary send to the Organizing Committee an electronic version (non-refundable) of the text of the article typed in Microsoft Office Word (2003, 2007) in the range of 6000-10000 words, before April 1, 2021 (in English or Turkish).

Each file must contain only one article, the name of the author must be written in the name of the file (Example: Sadykova Ainur_ conference).
Requirements for reports:
- · f spacing: top edges – 2 сm; bottom edges – 2 сm; left margin – 3 сm; right margin – 1 сm;
- · the title of the report in font Garamond (22 pt), after 1 interval the author's name, surname, academic degree, position, place of work, tel, e-mail, city, the text after another 1 interval;
- · images (black and white) must be scanned on the JPEG, JPG format not less than 300 dpi;
- · the link should be given at the end of the text;

The submitted materials must be strictly edited and meet the requirements. The author is responsible for the text and content of the report.
Confirming about your abstract is selected will be sent to your e-mail. Selected abstract authors must submit their scientific article to the Organizing Committee and participate in the conference in accordance with the requirements specified in the information letter. The submitted articles will be reviewed and selected within 5 days after the end of the conference by Journal of Modern Turkish History - Cumhuriyet tarihi araştirmalar dergisi (CTAD), which enters in the 4th Quartet (Q4) of the internationally peer-reviewed Web of Science and Scopus. The terms and conditions of the journal are available on the page of ilkeler_etikCTAD_Bahar 2020_.pdf (hacettepe.edu.tr).
Information about the decision to publish the article in this journal will be announced at the specified e-mail address of the author.
