Literary connections and literary translatio

On October 29, 2021, a festive literary and educational event on the theme “Literary connections and literary translation” was held at the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation, devoted to the visit of the orientalist scholar who translated the collection of the Turkic scholar Makhmud Kashgari “Divan Lugat at Turk” into Russian, translator, Candidate of Philology, PhD, granddaughter of the great Kazakh writer, public figure Mukhtar Auezov Zifa-Alua Auezova. The event was held in Al-Farabi Library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.


The organizers of this event were teachers of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation, Candidate of Philological Science, Acting Professor L.Zh. Musaly, senior lecturer R.A. Torekhanova, teacher Y.A. Morugova, Department of Kazakh Linguistics and the scientific and creative club “Kokzhiyek”.

The purpose of the event was to get acquainted with an outstanding scientist, discuss the problems of literary translation, and analyze literary works.

The presenters of this event were 2nd-year students of “Foreign Philology” Timur Kurmanaliyev, Moldir Tulenbayeva and Ainur Ermekkyzy, who covered the literary meeting in Kazakh and Russian.

2nd-year students of the specialty “Foreign Philology” Akerke Nurmukhanbet and Aruzhan Shakirbek delivered a speech with a colorful informative presentation about Z.A. Auezova’s achievements and work.

Ganibet Yeset played the dombra and performed Abay’s song “Allanyn ozi de ras, sozi de ras”, Danagul performed the poem “Bar mahabbat”, the words of of Abay’s edification words were performed by a 1st-year undergraduate student of the specialty “Kazakh Philology” Balzhan Kamyzanova.

The closing speech was delivered by the Head of the Department of Kazakh Linguistics, Candidate of Philological Sciences Anar Salkynbay, Head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation, PhD Malika Aimagambetova, Candidate of Philological Science Laila Musaly.
