100th anniversary of the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhsta

On November 19, 2021, the 100th anniversary of the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan was celebrated at the highest level in the building of this archive and in the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abai. The festive event was attended by Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Raimkulova Aktoty Rakhmatullayevna, Chairman of the Committee for Archives and Documentation Management of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Burashev Kuat Kakharmanovich, as well as foreign and native specialists and veterans of archival activities, public and state figures.  

The delegation headed by the advisor of the rector Tuimebayev Zhanseit Kanseitovich, Otarbayev Malik Nurzhanovich, represented the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University. Dean of the Faculty Nogaibayeva Mendigul Sagatovna, Head of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies Zhumatai Gabit Bekenovich, Professor Omarbekov Talas Omarbekovich, Kundakbayeva Zhanat Bekovna, Alpysbaeva Nurzipa Kumishbaevna, Yskak Akmaral Sydygalievna, Kumganbayev Zhandos Zhumalbekovich, as well as students, master degree and doctoral students took part in this event from the Faculty of History. Otarbayev Malik Nurzhanovich congratulated the archive staff on a significant holiday and presented special gifts on behalf of the university.

During the festive event, a memorial plaque “100 years of the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan 1921-2021” was installed in the building of the Central State Archive. An exhibition of archival documents and materials was also organized, presentations of specially published scientific collections and books were held.

Founded in 1921, the Central Regional Archive today is one of the iconic state objects that transmit the national heritage to future generations. The Central State Archive contributes to the training of archivists and document specialists in accordance with the requirements of the time at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Currently, it is a scientific, methodical laboratory, where students also undergo training, industrial practice.
