Conference in honor of the scientist-Farabiologist

Scientists of the Kazakh National University named after Fl-Farabi took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor Audanbek Kobesov. Today, an online meeting was held on the topic "Audanbek Kobesov a philosopher-thinker, mathematician, naturalist, teacher and modern education and upbringing."

The event was organized by KazNU named after Al-Farabi, KazNPU named after. Abai together with the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the opening of the conference, a welcoming speech was made. Vice-Rector for Social Development of KazNU Aliya Masalimova.

“Audanbek Kobesuly is a prominent scientist who made a significant contribution to the study and publication of the scientific works of the “second teacher of the world” Abu Nasr al-Farabi. He deeply studied the contribution of the scientist to mathematics, natural sciences,” said Aliya Rymgazievna. From 1977 until the end of his life, the scientist worked at the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi as a teacher, professor, head of the Department of Methods of Teaching Mathematics, and formed his own scientific school.

The scientist-researcher has published more than 200 scientific and educational works covering the world of the great thinker of the East. He made many translations from Arabic and published several books: "Al-Farabi", "Mathematical Heritage of Al-Farabi", "Astronomy in the Works of Al-Farabi". He also published monographs on Arabic mathematical treatises and works "Commentary on the Almagest". The monograph "Mathematical heritage of Al-Farabi" was highly appreciated by foreign experts.

To date, digital versions of a number of scientific works of Audanbek Kobesovich are stored in the electronic fund of the libraries of the Michigan and California Universities of the USA. A special place in the Al-Farabi library of KazNU is given to the works of Audanbek Kobesov.

In addition, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Temirbekov, professor of the Orenburg Pedagogical University Galina Matvievskaya, professor of KazNU Zhakypbek Altaev and other scientists made presentations at the meeting, who spoke in detail about the role of a researcher in Farabian studies and the study of the heritage of great scientists.

The work of the conference, scheduled for two days, will be continued in the following areas: "Al-Farabi - a philosopher-thinker and his philosophy of education", "Al-Farabi - a mathematician, naturalist, teacher and modern education" and "Audanbek Kobesov's contribution to Farabian studies".
