TRENDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE UK AND KAZAKHSTAN WERE DISCUSSED IN LONDON
Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, headed by the university delegation, took part in the IX intergovernmental commission of Great Britain and Kazakhstan in London, where modern trends and priorities of higher education of the two countries were discussed.
The purpose of the large–scale event is to strengthen interstate ties through cooperation in the field of higher education.
Minister Sayasat Nurbek made a speech at the event, presenting to the participants a report on the topic "Development of the Higher Education System in Kazakhstan". In his speech, the head of the department spoke about the state of the higher education system, achievements and tasks set by the Head of State.
The speakers' speeches were devoted to topical issues of establishing and strengthening strategic partnership between universities of Kazakhstan and the UK.
It should be noted that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been successfully cooperating for many years and has concluded agreements with such universities in the UK as: Lancaster University, London School of Business and Finance, University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), University of Birmingham, Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, Teesside University, Oxford, Nottingham etс al . As part of the academic mobility of students and teaching staff in 2022, 16 students, 7 doctoral students, 17 teachers, two postdoctoral fellows of KazNU visited universities in the UK, participating in various conferences, refresher courses and internships. Joint research projects, the management of doctoral students are key components of cooperation between KazNU and universities in England.
