Topical issues of improving the education system were discussed in the KazNU
The international conference "Kazakhstan - Russia" was held at the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University: current issues, innovations and prospects in the education system". The conference was attended by representatives of the leadership of KazNU, Kazakh and Russian universities, scientists and experts in the field of education.
Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev delivered a welcoming speech at the event. "Our conference is a platform for the exchange of achievements and plans for the future," said the head of the university. – There is an opportunity to look at yourself from the outside, to determine your place in the educational space. Of course, the most important thing here, after listening to colleagues, is to identify points for joint global interaction."
After familiarizing the participants with the activities and achievements of the university, the rector focused on the cooperation of KazNU with universities of the Russian Federation. As of today, 195 agreements have been signed with 140 universities in Russia. Within the framework of the CIS Network University, Al-Farabi KazNU implements master's degree programs of double-degree education jointly with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow State Linguistic University, Altai State University and South Ural State University. At the moment, 53 students from the Russian Federation are studying at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, 11 on an educational grant, 42 on a contractual basis.
A branch of the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" has been opened on the basis of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which implements educational programs for bachelor's and master's degrees.
"We are fully interested in the issues of integration and development of international cultural and educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russian universities," Zhanseit Kanseitovich stressed.
The meeting was also attended by: Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Temirbolat, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan Olga Filonova, Vice-Rector for Research Activities of Abai KazNPU Ermek Buribayev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation Polina Nemirovchenko, etc. During the conference, topical issues of improving the education system, innovative methods and prospects were discussed.
In addition, the need to develop cooperation within the framework of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals was emphasized, with a special emphasis on improving the "Quality of education" and "Partnership for Sustainable Development". In this regard, it was also proposed to provide access to the platform of mass open online courses of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University - Open KazNU (https://open.kaznu.kz /).
