Cross Cultural Leadership Program (CCLP)
The problem of leadership is gaining special urgency for the contemporary world. It is widely accepted the development of society is largely defined by the functioning of its leaders. What a leader should be like? How do cultural differences between people reveal in the leader’s way of functioning? What are the special attributes of a team work? These and other interesting questions have been studied on November 5-7th, 2013 by the future leaders: undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students of Al- Farabi KazNU within the frame of Cross Cultural Leadership Program (CCLP), an international educational program initiated by the department of philosophy. The classes were taught by Tomas Goetch и Clifford Moon (Seattle, WA, USA), who are renowned experts in Cross cultural leadership and the representatives of «International Center for Education and Technology» international foundation.
The participants were given not only lectures on the philosophy of leadership, but were also engaged into interesting cross cultural games. While playing the games the participants have been learning to establish connections with a different from their own culture and to understand its essence and to become leaders via cross cultural dimension.
It is worth of a note the American professors were deeply satisfied with the level of knowledge of the participants and expressed their desire to collaborate with the department of philosophy further on. Seattle University professors and the head of department of philosophy Nurysheva G. Zh. granted certificates to the participants on the last day of the training. Next following classes are scheduled for February 2014.
