Repair work is underway in the dormitories of KazNU for the new academic year
To date, the campus of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University continues ongoing cosmetic repairs in 14 dormitories.
During the renovation, painting and whitewashing works are carried out in all rooms and corridors. The entrance group is being repaired and the facade of the first floors is being painted.
Thanks to the efforts of the employees of the production and economic department, linoleum was replaced and sanitary equipment was updated in the dormitories of the campus No. 14 and No. 6. In addition, electrical and heating systems are being checked in all student houses and shower cabins are being repaired. In general, repairs are being carried out in all dormitories and should be completed on August 25.
Currently, KazNU has 14 dormitories with 5840 beds and a House of young scientists. On the eve of the new academic year, 17,395 undergraduate students and 2,100 undergraduates and doctoral students are expected to arrive from other cities. As a result, by the new academic year, the shortage of beds at the university is 12 thousand. In order to promptly resolve the issue of providing housing for students, negotiations are underway with hostels, hotels and private landlords. Thus, it is supposed to provide sleeping places for 1800 students.In the future, to radically solve the shortage of beds, it is planned to build dormitories in stages as part of the second stage of construction of the KazNU campus.
