An international conference dedicated to Murat Auezov was held in KazNU
The Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Continuity in the historical and cultural process" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the state and public figure, diplomat, scientist-culturalist, writer Murat Auezov.
The event was held with the support of the Almaty City Akimat and the organization KGKP "Association of Museums of Almaty".
The purpose of this event is to popularize the spiritual heritage of the figure Murat Mukhtarovich Auezov, as well as his scientific, creative works, analysis of important stages of public and state activity.
The event was attended by: state and public figures, Almaty City Akimat, Secretary General of the International Organization TURKSOY Sultan Raev, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Tatarstan Zaidulla Rkayl, Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan Irek Sharipov, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytjamal Ospanova.
The conference also gathered scientists from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tatarstan, Holland, poets and writers, intellectuals of the country, friends - contemporaries of Murat Auezov, faculty and students of KazNU.
Opening the conference, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted the special place of the jubilee in Kazakh spiritual culture.
"The name of Murat Mukhtaruly is well known not only to the Kazakh people, but also to the entire Turkic and Islamic world. The writer was one of the brightest members, leaders of the "Zhas Tulpar" movement, which united Kazakh youth during his studies in Moscow. He was a member of the "Nevada-Semei" movement, which initiated the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. At the beginning of our independence, the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China contributed to the development of national diplomacy and made efforts to realize new ties between the two countries. During the period of work as the chief editor of "Kazakhfilm" film studio, he formed a new content of the national cinematography. During the years of work in the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan has done a lot for the development of the sphere of artistic translation and literary ties," - said the rector.
In his speech, Secretary General of the International Organization TURKSOY Sultan Rayev noted: "Murat Auezov is the son of the great classicist Mukhtar Auezov, who became a worthy successor of his father. He is one of the outstanding modern intellectuals of Kazakhstan, a multifaceted personality, a scientist-philosopher. He is a figure who has made a significant contribution to the development of science, fiction, cinema and television in Kazakhstan," he said.
During the event, speeches were made by scholars of oriental studies, Turkology, historians - Robert Ermers, Safar Abdullo, Alexander Kadyrbaev, Rkayl Zaidullin, who noted the great contribution and achievements of Prof. Murat Mukhtarovich in literature and politics.
Murat Mukhtarovich's book "Birliktelik" ("Birlik") in Turkish was presented at the conference. This collection was published with the support of the international organization TURKSOY.
At the end of the meeting the jubilee thanked the audience. The work of the international scientific-practical conference continued in the framework of breakout sessions.
