The book "Word about Father" was presented in Turkey

The international conference "Kemel Tokayev - public figure, outstanding writer, famous journalist" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founder of the detective genre in our country Kemel Tokayev was held in Turkey.

During the event the presentation of the book of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev "Word about the father" translated into Turkish took place.

The new collection is published by "Bengu" publishing house headed by Yakup Omeroglu, writer and chairman of the Eurasian Union of Writers.

The discussion was organized by the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Farabi-Eurasia Science Center of Istanbul University. 

The purpose of the bilateral informative meeting is to popularize Kemel Tokayev's creative heritage among the brotherly states and to develop the literature of Turkish countries.

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev, Chairman of the Eurasian Union of Writers Yakup Omeroglu, foreign scientists, historians, faculty and students of Istanbul University took part in the conference.

Professors and doctors such as Ali Shukru Çoruk, Abdulvahab Kara, Orhan Soylemez, Aina Askeruly Arslan made speeches before the audience and talked about Kemel Tokayev's life and works.

In his speech Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev familiarized the Turkic people in detail with the works of writer Kemel Tokayev and emphasized his merits in the literature of brotherly countries.

"The book of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev "Word about his father" - tells about the historical events of the Kazakh steppe in the early twentieth century. Looking at the life of his father, the head of state tells about the sublime spirit of Kazakh guys named Kasym and Kemel. Thanks to the creative work of the writer, we learn the history of the formation of Kazakh literature and the merits of Kemel Tokayev to the Turkic world", - said Zhanseit Tuimebayev.

Kemel Tokayev was born on October 2, 1923 in Karatal district of Almaty region. In 1948, he graduated from Kazakh State University. Later he held responsible positions in the editorial offices of the newspapers "Leninshil Zhas" (now "Zhas Alash"), "Pioneer of Kazakhstan" (now "Ulan"), "Socialist Kazakhstan" (now "Egemen Kazakhstan"). In 1960-1977 he worked as editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Vedomosti" of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR, in 1980-1984 as literary consultant of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan. More than ten books on the subject of Soviet Chekists were published in Kazakh and Russian languages.

Kemel Tokayev is an outstanding writer who paved the way for the detective genre in Kazakh literature along with his works on military themes.

He is the author of "Star Trek", "Winter Swallow", "Night Shot", "Important Task", "Gold with Tamga", "The Last Strike", "The Soldier Went to War", "Bird without a Nest", etc.
