On September 22, 2023, the Department of Foreign Languages held an event on the topic “Language is Power” with the first-year students within the framework of the week of languages. First of all, our native language is an infinitely rich, rich and strong language. Our native language Kazakh is an invaluable heritage inherited from our ancestors. Therefore, every person should cherish his native language like the apple of his eye and keep it clean. In the modern era of globalization, a person who knows many languages occupies a special place in society. It is clear to all of us that learning another language and mastering it plays a special role in international relations; English today is a global language.
In conclusion, during the event, it was said that today in higher educational institutions it is possible to study a foreign language at a professional level, that is, every student, depending on his profession, can master a foreign language and develop it further. The students also emphasized that there is a great opportunity to travel to foreign countries and gain great experience. This event was organized in offline and online formats.
