Essay contest "Spiritual literary heritage of T. Zhurgenov and Kazakh culture"

Announcement

In honor of the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, we invite students of higher educational institutions (journalism, philology) to take part in the essay contest "Spiritual literary heritage of T. Zhurgenov and Kazakh culture", dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Temirbek Zhurgen,  the outstanding statesman and public figure, one of the founders of this educational institution. 

Objectives of the essay contest:

- to acquaint with  the life and spiritual heritage of T. Zhurgenov,  the statesman,  to study  his contribution to the development of science and education, culture and art of Central Asia and Kazakhstan;

- to develop students' creative abilities, to instill the ability to express thoughts clearly and competently;

- to award and select  talented and gifted students.

The order and timing of the competition:

Deadline for conference papers is from  13.11.23 to  25.11.23.

The winners will be selected  by the end of November 2023.

 

Terms of the competition:

- Competitive works must meet the requirements of the competition and the rules for writing an essay.

- The contest accepts works in Kazakh, Russian, corresponding to the topics approved by the organizing committee.

Essay topics:

1. Spiritual and literary heritage of Temirbek Zhurgenov

2. Temirbek Zhurgenov is an outstanding personality of the Turkic world

3. Temirbek Zhurgenov –  expert  of criticism

4. Temirbek Zhurgenov and Kazakh culture

5. Temirbek Zhurgenov is an outstanding statesman

 

The order of the competition:

The competitive works are evaluated by an independent expert commission.

The winners of the competition will be awarded w diplomas and  prizes.

The   authors  of 10 best essays will receive a certificate of participation in the competition.

Requirements for  essay materials:

1. 1. Essay materials in electronic form are accepted from November 13 to November 25, 2023 by e-mail: kazlit19@gmail.com. The file must be saved in Microsoft Word format.Contact phone: +7-778-683-32-55 (Ulzhalgas)

2. The author's name, surname, place of study, course, specialty, country (Times New Romant, bold, italics, 14 size) should be located in the upper right corner of the page (see sample).

3. The title of the essay (Times New Roman, bold, 14 size) – in the center of the page (to see the sample).

4.The volume of the essay should not exceed 300-350 words.

Attention! Materials that do not correspond to the approved topic of the essay, as well as those that have not been edited, are not accepted.

Results:

- The results of the contest will be published on social networks in December 2023.

- Essays selected by an independent expert commission are published on the website of the university, faculty kaznu.kz .

- Diplomas, certificates and gifts will be issued during the "ZHURGENOV’S WEEK".
