A series of lectures on Central Asian Studies was held at KazNU

Lectures of foreign professors from India, Japan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan on Central Asian studies were held in Al-Farabi KazNU. Guest lectures were organized by the Department of International Relations and World Economy and the research center "Study of Regional Relations". Within the framework of the guest lectures the current trends in the issues of migration, water resources, religious extremism in the Central Asian region were raised.

Professor Govind Kumar Inakhia, Associate Professor, Center for Russian and Central Asian Studies, School of International Studies (India) gave a lecture on "The Impact of Reverse Migration in Central Asian Countries". 

Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Senior Research Fellow, NatStrat (India) gave a lecture on "India's Engagement with Eurasia: The Central Asian Dimension".

Prof. Ulugbek Hasanov, Head of the Department of International Relations, University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) delivered a lecture on "Problems of Water Resources Regulation in Central Asia".

Prof. Farrukh Salimov, Head of the Department of Diplomacy and Foreign Policy of the Republic of Tajikistan, Tajik National University (Dushanbe, Tajikistan) presented the topic "Mechanisms to prevent the spread of religious extremism in Central Asia (on the example of Tajikistan)".

Prof. Kenichi Ohashi, Rikkyo University (Tokyo, Japan) delivered a lecture "Russian-speaking tourism: the example of Vietnam".

The guest lectures were held at a high professional scientific and theoretical level and were informative for the listeners. At the end of each lecture doctoral students, master's students and undergraduates asked questions, discussed, shared their views on topical issues of regional cooperation in Central Asia.

And also, within the framework of their stay at the Faculty of International Relations, foreign professors gave interviews on Central Asian studies on the YouTube channel "Questioning Regional Affairs", organized by the experts of the research center "Study of Regional Relations".

The series of guest lectures will be continued by Nurkhan Zhaliev, Managing Director of the Information and Analytical Department of the Otandastar Foundation (Kazakhstan). His topic: "Compatriots abroad and diaspora policy of Kazakhstan". Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Higher School of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn (Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic) Omarova Saltanat will deliver a lecture on "Changing migration trends in Eurasia in the new international realities".
