“Financial Genius”

The business game “Financial Genius”, organized by the Kenzhegali Sagadiev University of International Business between universities on November 13-16, 2023, was attended by 4th year students of the specialty “Finance” of the Higher School of Economics and Business of the Al Farabi Kazakh National University Sheraly Tursynay, Balanova Balzhan, Amankulova Zhangul, who successfully completed stages 1 and 2 of the game and took 1st place. Scientific supervisor, teacher of the Department of Finance and Accounting, Candidate of Economic Sciences - Asilova Aizhan Sarsenovna.

Students studying in the curriculum “Finance, Economics, Banking and Insurance” are invited to participate in this business game. The purpose of the business game is aimed at developing students’ teamwork skills and problem solving in the field of finance and accounting.

The course of the business game “Financial Genius” took place in 2 stages:

Stage 1 - qualifying round

At this stage, 15 test questions and the solution of 2 problems were covered in the disciplines “Finance”, “Securities Market”, “Corporate Finance”, “Interest, Credit and Monetary Theory”.

Stage 2 - decisive round

“Finance Expert” is a quiz in the form of questions and answers.

“Chief Financial Analyst” - solving problems as a team.

“Business case” - solving a case in a team.

The competition among universities was attended by: "Money lover's" from Al Farabi Kazakh National University (1st place), "Blind party" from Kenzhegali Sagadiev University of International Business (2nd place), "I'm not local" from Almau University (3rd place), "Eternals" from Turan University (4th place), "Wunderkinders" from Narkhoz University (5th place), "BEERzha" from Kazakh-German University (6th place). 3 teams were recognized as the best.

All winning teams received diplomas and valuable prizes. The remaining participants of the game were awarded certificates of participation.
