SDG 17. Round table on the theme: «Prospects of nuclear energy in Kazakhstan»

Within the framework of the international scientific-practical conference "Current state and prospects of development of nuclear industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan", dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Academician I.V. Kurchatov, on November 28, 2023 the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics of Al-Farabi KazNU organized and held a round table on the theme: "Prospects of nuclear energy in Kazakhstan".

During the round table the following issues were discussed:

- Training of qualified personnel for nuclear energy, nuclear engineering in the Republic of Kazakhstan together with specialists from the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- Development of scientific research and development in the field of nuclear technologies in Kazakhstan.

The round table was attended by the staff of  RSE NNC RK, INP RK, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and representatives of NRNU MEPhI.

The participants of the round table noted the need to consolidate the efforts of all stakeholders (educational and scientific organizations, public organizations, nuclear industry enterprises, public authorities) for timely staffing of the developing nuclear industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Based on the results of the round table, in order to develop a consistent plan to meet the staffing needs of the nuclear industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is planned to hold a number of joint events with leading interested organizations under the auspices of Al-Farabi KazNU.
