Modern Russian writers of Kazakhstan.
On December 14, 2023 Russian Language and Culture Center hosted an online meeting with the researcher, PhD student, the lecturer of Dulati University E.S. Shmakova. She prepared the presentation on the topic: "Introducing to the literary work of modern Russian writers of Kazakhstan" within the framework of "Digital Humanities" course. Elena Shmakova spoke about Russian writers who have made a significant contribution to the literary heritage of Kazakhstan. She prepared a presentation on the modern literature of Kazakhstan: literature in the national language, Russian-language literature.
She focused on the literary works by N. Verevochkin, a novelist, a writer, a cartoonist, and a journalist who was the winner of the literary prizes: "Russian Prize" (2005) and "Yasnaya Polyana" (2007). She also talked about the literary works by Nadezhda Chernova who is a Russian Kazakh poet, a journalist, a translator, a literary critic, a publicist, and the member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan. Researcher Elena Shmakova gave the examples from "KudykinyGory", "Stepnoy Vavilon" literary works which show the writer's appeal to the traditions of Russian folklore. The speaker also mentioned about the literary works by I. Odegov who is a modern Kazakhstan’s writer, the author of "The Sound with which the Sun Rises" (2003), "Any Love" (2013) books. She said that the author used postmodern strategies such as "nonlinear, multilevel, interactive text", etc in his literary works.
The students of the Faculty of Philology listened with interest to the researcher's speech, asked questions, and exchanged opinions. They thanked Elena Sergeevna for an interesting conversation about the literary works by Russian writers in Kazakhstan and the literary dialogue that took place at the meeting. The young scientists participating in the meeting made their suggestions: PhD doctoral student A. Akasheva actively participated in the conferences on topics about Russian-speaking writers of Kazakhstan. She published the articles about the popularization of modern Kazakhstani writers in the scientific journals. PhD student G. Makimova also participated in the international prestigious national educational programs.
S.B. Begalieva encouraged the meeting participants to participate in annual grants to promote the Russian language (teaching Russian abroad, scientific and methodological activities in the field of Russian language and literature, etc.The meeting was in online and offline form.
